The 2nd podcast by Dietmar Saxler entitled “Artists Talk In Ambient” is an artist talk with Tasos Stamou and Waltraud Blischke and an improvised sound performance by the three participants. The podcast was recorded in the gallery Richas Digest at the Volksgarten in Cologne, which Blischke uses as a temporary off-space for art actions. Existing furnishings and a traditional chain of bells served as sound generators.

Greek composer, electroacoustic music performer and sound technologist Tasos Stamou has developed a unique style of live composition of electroacoustic music. Inspired by different genres such as improvised music, musique concrète, noise & drone and folklore, he explores spaces and uses both traditional instruments and modern media.

Cologne-based Waltraud Blischke is an artist, DJane and curator of experimental formats. Her latest music project between composition and improvisation Kryptologgia deals with personal and artistic impressions from Cologne crypts and their special sound character.

Dietmar Saxler is curator and artistic director of the Cologne Ambient Festival. Influenced by the electronic music scene of Cologne, he started the event series E’DE COLOGNE in 1999 and curated party series, scenic readings and concerts. In 2005 he founded the Ambient Festival “Civilization of Love”.

Every month ONpodcast offers a new perspective into the independent scene of Cologne. What it is about and who it is with is entirely up to the host: in two episodes they give us insights into their life and work within the experimental music scene and share conversation, stories and music.
