On this evening Michele Marco Rossi will play some of the most appreciated composers of the contemporary scene, such as Enno Poppe and Francesco Filidei, who can be heard regularly at prestigious international festivals. On this occasion, the world premiere of Riff23 will be performed, a new piece for cello commissioned by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Köln from Bernhard Gander. The program will be completed by the German premieres of Obstinate by Georges Aperghis, reworked for Michele Marco Rossi and his cello, and Esili canti d’attesa by Filippo Perocco, one of the most interesting voices on the Italian compositional scene. With its intimate, hidden vision of sound, the piece completes a program that ranges from microtonal compositions to rock and metal fusions, from whispers and whispers to unbridled energy and penetrating lyricism.

Michele Marco Rossi is one of the most highly regarded Italian interpreters of contemporary music. Some of the most famous composers of the international contemporary scene have written music for him.
